Marathon Brownie

I remember the days of Marathon bars before they were renamed Snickers. I’ve recently seen so many blogs for snickers brownies, all good, and mine is similar but with extra nuts. This is a quick fix sweet and salty treat.

Marathon brownies
100g dark chocolate
100g butter
2 eggs
200g light muscovado sugar
110g plain flour
2 snickers bars
30g jumbo salted peanuts

Melt the butter and the chocolate. Add the sugar and mix thoroughly so no lumps of sugar are left. Beat in the eggs and finally stir in the flour. When the flour is almost mixed in add the snickers bars which need to be sliced up. Pour into well lined 20cm square tin and scatter the jumbo peanuts. Bake in 175’c fan oven for 20 minutes.

I cut these into 16 squares because they are so sweet, chewy and salty that a small bite is enough.
